ORGANISATION
The jobholder is placed under the authority of the Group Manager - Stress and Thermal Solutions in
the Airbus Group India Pvt. Ltd.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAJOR END RESULTS

As a member of the Stress and Thermal Solutions team, the mission of the jobholder will be to assess the structural integrity of the A/C components using advanced nonlinear finite element analysis methods under varied static and dynamic operating and certification loads across the A/C lifecycle.

To this respect the jobholder will:

• Ensure compliance of deliverables with specifications, requirements and applicable Airbus
•  
• Ensure that the deliverables are completed according to the agreed work plan to time and quality.
• Ensure appropriate reporting and publishing on his/her activities

MAIN ACTIVITIES
 Get comprehensive understanding of Airbus best practice methods, processes, tools and framework in Structures Domain, with a specific focus on Non-linear Static and Dynamic Crash/Impact) finite elements methods and the mechanical behaviour of the A/C materials (Metallic / Composites).·
 Perform complete FEA (finite elements· analysis) from CAD data extraction, meshing,boundary/loading conditions, to the validation of the linear, non-linear and vulnerability analyses
and interpretation of results:

• According to the agreed work plan to time and quality.
• Full compliance with specifications, requirements and applicable Airbus policies.
• To model and analyze major component FEM in support of stress activities.
• Understanding of Metallic and Composite modelling, design criteria and Failure
•  
• Understanding of Aircraft Structure’s strength for static and dynamic loads.
• Able to automate recurrent modelling and analysis tasks to reduce lead time

Competencies Required :

• To perform non-linear finite element analysis (Static and Dynamic scenarios)Good knowledge of A/C structures and their response to static and dynamic loads
• Able to handle Detailed Finite Element Models (DFEMs) preparation.
• Able to understand physics of problem with focus on problem solving.
• Able to handle various types of structural non-linearity’s
• Verification and Validation of the DFEMs as per Airbus methods and processes
•  

Tasks to be carried out in accordance with the specs, schedule and applicable policies

• Understanding of Aircraft Structural Mechanics phenomena and processes
• Ability to Identify, formalize and evaluate potential process / method improvements, and make proposals to Airbus Structure Domain to enhance stress analysis accuracy and efficiency
• Comply with ways of working agreed between European Engineering Entities and the Indian Centre.
• Ensuring effective communication is established and maintained with Europe with aim to build trust and to increase efficiency.
• Ensure the appropriate reporting and publishing on his/her activities, with a focus on the process followed, Additional focus on capturing achievements and dissemination of lessons learnt.

Tools
 Experience on FEA Pre and Post processors:·
1.) HYPERMESH, ABAQUS.
2.) NASTRAN/PATRAN
 Scripting: PYTHON, VB, Knowledge of CATIAV5 is added advantage·
