Job Description

Responsible for supporting Technical Records Supervisor Publications in managing all data deliverables, control access and distribution of data from the libraries under GAL’s control.

Will also be responsible for

  • Provides day-to-day technical data delivery service as required to support operational needs.
  • Assists in monitoring and following-up the technical publications and manuals requirements to meet internal functions and/or customer needs.
  • Actively involved in collecting, registering, uploading and sustaining Technical Data collection.
  • Verifies and validates the currency of the technical material prior to issuing to a function or customer.
  • Assists with and follows-up publication related clarifications, SBs (Service Bulletin), ADS (Airworthiness Directive), etc. or similar requests with the vendors and the end users.
  • Receives & evaluates incoming requests and prepares purchase requests for new publications as coordinated and found applicable by line of authority.
  • Monitors and updates the inventory and report status and discrepancies to the Library Supervisor.
  • Ensures that the Technical data is loaded to electronic media (eDOC)as practically possible and keeps as hard copies, depending on requests from the users or the policy.
  • Follows policy and procedures applicable to the libraries and its deliverables.
  • Performs cataloguing and classification of print, audio-visual and electronic resources.
  • Prepares and deliver accurate and complete documentation and reports as assigned.
  • Assists in implementation of data management successfully across multiple contracts providing accurate scheduling, status and revision services for technical publications.
  • Maintains files as necessary to show evidence of delivery, receipt, disposition and resulting subsequent requirements.
  • Supports in ensuring the Engineering Data Center as a central controlling and monitoring office under Engineering Department’s management.
  • Maintains regular contact with technical department of all GAL customers to remain abreast of any technical difficulties that arise on the aircraft being supported.
  • Attends conferences, workshops, etc. as necessary to remain abreast of the technical advances in the field of aviation with respect to the customers’ aircraft being supported by GAL.
  • Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate departmental MIS statements and reports of GAL to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude
  • Recommends an optimum organization structure for the Engineering Management section so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can take place in an efficient manner
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

QUALIFICATION

  •  -Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical, avionics or similar engineering disciplines.
  • -Must have Technical experience in the aviation industry with adverse knowledge of ATA chapters structure, regulations and aerospace documentation

EXPERIENCE

  •  -Minimum 3 years of related experience with at least 2 years in in technical publication &/or library administration.
  • -Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes.
  • -Knowledge of using aircraft manuals and documentations.
  • -Must have experience with data processing software and organizing all library activities.
  • -Ability to plan, coordinate, monitor detailed publication inventory for diverse fleet and service.
  • -Good knowledge and understanding of airline maintenance and engineering operations.
  • -Sound knowledge in broad aircraft systems
