In our Offshore Loads Team we are looking for a Load Engineer. The team is responsible for the load assessments feeding into the design of optimal wind turbine support structures for our offshore projects worldwide. The Load Engineers simulate the dynamic response of the wind turbine and its support structure under external loading (from e.g. wind and waves) and controller actions. Furthermore, the team is involved in validating the calculation models against full scale measurements.

Driving down the cost of wind power is our key target. Accurate and fast load assessments, leading to an optimal support structure designs for every individual wind turbine, play a fundamental role in this. The load assessments are performed in close cooperation with the Sales Teams, Structural Designers and other teams in our engineering and R&D departments located in Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands and other locations around the globe.

The Offshore Loads team is located in our offices in The Hague (NL), Hamburg (DE), Tokyo (JP) and Bangalore (IN). We invite you to join our team in Bangalore. Occasional international travel for project meetings will be required.

What are the key responsibilities associated with the job?

  • Perform site specific load analyses for our offshore wind projects with our in-house developed aero-elastic code. Collaborate with our structural engineers to design optimized, cost-effective support structures for our customers;
  • Continuously develop and improve, streamline and automate our load simulation software and design methods;
  • Initiate and contribute to activities that drive down the cost of offshore wind power.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You hold an MSc degree in civil engineering, mechanical, aerospace or offshore engineering or a related field;
  • You have a solid background in aero-elastic analysis and structural dynamics;
  • Design of offshore support structures is a multidisciplinary task: experience in loads engineering itself but also in structural dynamics, structural health monitoring or other adjacent fields will be seen as an advantage;
  • It is paramount that you are proficient in English, both in reading and writing;
  • You possess strong analytical qualities and are enthusiastic, self-starting, result and quality oriented, customer focused and resourceful. We are looking for a person with good communication and interpersonal skills.
