BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Department of Aerospace Engineering, which is an academic unit within the College of Engineering at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, offers a unique undergraduate degree program in Aerospace Engineering, which is ABET accredited since 2015.



The Department also has a growing graduate student population, with students enrolled on both Master’s and PhD programs. Currently, the Department has fourteen faculty members, nine post-doctoral fellows, and five research assistants, performing research in various areas of aeronautics and astronautics, which include: aerospace vehicles design and testing; computational and experimental aerodynamics, aerospace propulsion and combustion dynamics, aerospace materials and structures, unmanned aircraft systems, avionics and air traffic management systems, astrodynamics, spaceflight systems design and operations, advanced manufacturing, and multi-disciplinary design optimization.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The Department invites applications for faculty positions in all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors) and in any discipline relevant to Aerospace Engineering. While exceptional candidates in any discipline relevant to aerospace engineering are sought, particular emphasis is for top candidates with background in one or more of the following areas:

Spacecraft Design and Space Mission AnalysisAvionics and Air Traffic Management SystemsGuidance, Navigation, and ControlExperimental and/or Computational AerodynamicsAerospace Propulsion SystemsAtmospheric Flight DynamicsAircraft Design and Multi-Disciplinary Design OptimizationAerospace Structures and Materials


The candidate is expected to have a strong research potential, demonstrated by relevant publications in high-impact journals, and teaching experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas. The candidate must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



Successful candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain active research programs that lead to peer-reviewed publications in high-impact professional journals, and provide service to the department, the university, and the profession. Successful candidates are also expected to be involved in thematic research within one or more of the university research priority areas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
A PhD or equivalent doctorate in related discipline from an accredited institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in pre-eminent institutions of higher education.
