Job Description

To lead and manage the day to day operations of BAS’s wholly owned subsidiary BAS Development Company (BDC) inclusive of its Manpower, Catering, Security, BAS World Cargo Services (BWCS) and other business units through the effective management of business unit teams and operations and the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.

Main Duties:

  • Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures.
  • Improving the market position of the organization and helping it in every way to attain the desired financial growth.
  • Assist the General manager in executing short-term goals and plans for the year and ensuring that they are executed in the due course of time in coordination with the business unit designated staff members.
  • Building key customer relationships with all stakeholders to contribute to maintaining a good position in the market.
  • Assist the General Manager in negotiation of any agreement subject to pre-agreed parameters and recommend the structure of any active investment.
  • Maintaining extensive knowledge of the current developments in the business market in order to assess the quality of service and determine how to improve it.
  • Reporting all important information and directives from the General Manager to key staff.
  • Studying the operational trends of the market and developing plans based on the current market scenario.
  • Implements any strategies operationally on the ground.
  • Develops and manages accurate operational KPIs to analyze performance and suggest improvement initiatives.
  • Liaises with all departments to ensure that appropriate skills and resources are engaged in forming the approach and executing operational directives.
  • Supporting the general manager in liaising with BAS and other service providers for the provision and management of shared services including HC, Finance, Corporate Communications, and other disciplines.
  • Participates in the development, review and implementation of the BDC strategy execution.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties such as attending workshops, trade shows, and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry, adopting a team approach; work with others in pursuing common goals.
  • Support worker communication with the management team.
  • Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in operational management, operations, business development and leadership of a company/Division/Department in a similar field.

Other Essential Requirements:

  • Keen observation skills in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the company and develop plans accordingly.
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners and employees.
  • Excellent analytical, financial skills and logical thinking power.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Decision making.
  • Excellent communications skills.
