Job Description

The On Wing Support Powerplant Engineer will provide technical solutions to shop operations, workscope reviews and capability evaluations for engines and/or components; service bulletins; modifications; configuration; new repair techniques for GE Powered engines.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure the execution of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives meet regulatory, customer and OEM requirements.
  • Receive engine-specific workscopes, special work orders, repair order, etc. from CTP, product engineering and / or customers, evaluate, and translate into enterprise tool. Convert incoming records for workscope applicability and configuration management.
  • Work on a global team to create, regularly review, and improve global routers in SAP/Oasis ERP system.
  • Partner with production and planning teams to coordinate workscopes, etc. to effectively complete engine repairs in the shop or at offsite locations throughout the world.
  • Initiate DRs/DICAs and follow through disposition. Engage Product Support Engineering and/or other resources to eliminate fleet issues.
  • Liaison across multiple departments include both the internal team and customers to ensure seamless service and work scope execution.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks. Ensure consistency with engineering policies and procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.
  • Participate in problem-solving process to reach to a technical solution.
  • Understand appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Engine Shop Manual procedures.
  • Participation on a cross functional team as part of Kaizen type events.

In Addition, The On-Wing Support Powerplant Engineer Will

  • Collaborate with cross functional and global teams to assure the engine meets or exceeds all requirements.
  • Be willing to speak up even if their opinion goes against the current practice
  • Show creativity in seeking solutions.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Degree in relevant Aviation Engineering desired but not essential.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Aircraft Engine maintenance.

Desired Skills / Experience

  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability are a must
  • Possess a desire to learn and grow with advances in technology
  • Experience in repair of commercial engines
  • Needs familiarization with both large and small commercial engines.
  • Green belt certified or willing to pursue
  • Familiar with SAP Oasis, AMM and IPC manuals desired
  • Experience working with a global team
