Job Description

DHL Express is looking for a Project manager to join and lead our team. He/she will be responsible to manage Operations Projects on a day-to-day basis to deliver customized solution, improvements in service and cost performance. Ensure the projects are completed on time, within budget and to specified quality criteria.

Key Responsibilities

He/she will have to perform the following key activities:

• Customers:
• Deliver new capability and service standard to meet customer needs and satisfaction.
• Country operations personnel.
• Support the Operations team in providing the expertise and resources to achieve the objectives.
• Other Functional Staff:
• Participate with members from Finance, GCL, Sales, CS to achieve corporate objectives.
• Consultants:
• Manage changes with consultants
• Vendors / contractors:
• Manage vendor to achieve the service standards
• Operations Programme Manager, Project Teams and Project Managers across AP Region.
• Liaise with the Operations Programme Manager and other project teams to ensure work is neither overlooked nor duplicated.
• Country Operations personnel:
• Lead the team in implementing changes.
• Lead in defining the operations needs and improvement opportunities.
• Cross-functional project teams:
• Work with the other functions eg CS, IS, Finance, Marketing to resolve issues.
• GIS
• Work closely in the beta testing, UAT, roll out implementation of the applications, systems for standardization.
• Regional Operations Team:
• Work closely in the implementation of regional and global initiative at a country level.
• Participate in regional workgroups and activities.
• GMNC and Logistics’ Groups, Hub, Gateways, other Operations Program Managers in the network:
• Support and provide operations or local input.
• Project Management:
• Plan and monitor the project to ensure it is completed on time.
• Manage the production of required deliverables ensuring quality and cost parameters are met.
• Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary.
• Manage business and project risks, including the development of any contingency plans.
• Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project.
• Operations Systems Implementation:
• Plan and implement applications or systems implementation.
• Change Management:
• Lead in the change management activities.
• Develop a high performance service culture within the functional department. Plan, organize and direct and efficient and effective functional department.
• Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
• Consult performance appraisal.
• Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets.
• Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department.
