Job Description

Educational Qualifications         

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related digital or business discipline with 6 years of relevant experience of which at least 3 years in managing IT development projects.
  • Airline working experience will be advantage and is preferable.
  • Post graduate qualification in the related discipline from a reputed university / institute with good academic records will be advantage.

Skills/Knowledge           

  • Ability to plan, deploy and track change management and problem management processes and capability of undertaking independent responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience in Payton, Java, C++, PHP, web development and design, Webservices, Oracle and SQL databases and BIRT reporting tools or some of these areas is a must.
  • Working experience in Windows, Linux and Unix servers in corporate data centers, AWS and Azure Cloud.
  • Experience in developing technical interfaces with back office systems.
  • Proficiency in English (Spoken & Written)
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to express and understand complex technical concepts
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
  • Good understanding of one or more airline business areas
  • Good communication, team management and interpersonal skills
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Lead a team of developers and manage outsourced development resources in the assigned business systems.
  • Translate business requirements to digital solutions for the assigned business areas and ensure deployed systems are aligned to business processes and deliver value.
  • Identify areas of automation in the assigned business areas and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Be the digital champion during the process of system evaluation and selection.
  • Manage digital projects for one or more business areas within the framework of digital policies, service level commitments and quality guidelines.

Strategic

  • Assist the Senior Manager – Airline Solutions in providing a strategic direction for leveraging technology solutions to meet business objectives and assist in preparing the digital plans and budgets for business stakeholders.
  • Manage in house and outsourced development resources in achieving annual and multi-annual objectives.

Operational

  • Lead a team of developers and outsourced development resources in completing daily and periodic tasks and duties and ensure maximization of production value.
  • Assist the Senior Manager – Airline Solutions in coordinating with business unit management to explore areas of deployment of digital solutions to drive value and efficiencies within the business.
  • Oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of the current systems and recommend implementation of new systems (in co-ordination with Digital and business management).
  • Determine feasibility of proposed systems or changes in terms of personnel, equipment, cost and time.
  • Develop processes for performance monitoring of the supported systems and take proactive actions.
  • Develop, train and lead a team of support professionals with the necessary skill sets for supporting the supported systems.
  • Monitor the performance of all supported systems installed and in use and interact with third-party vendors responsible for maintenance of these applications.
  • Manage configuration, administration and data of the systems within the assigned business units.
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of the systems and constantly monitor the requirements and system upgrade functionalities to match them.
  • Manage the implementation of the approved policies & procedures.
  • Perform technical evaluation of bids relating to digital applications.
  • Maintain contacts with software suppliers to ensure that implementation and support is provided to the highest levels, SLAs are met, and escalations are appropriately handled.
  • Provide the Senior Manager – Airline Solutions with reports and statistics to ensure maximum performance of the team and systems.
  • Ensure that user requirements are addressed efficiently and within agreed service levels.
  • Provide alternative solutions and recommend the best solution based on fact discovery and management.
  • Identify areas of improvement in current business applications portfolio.
  • Coordinate between vendors and business units to conduct testing, upgrades, and system enhancement requirements.
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
  • Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting within the required business units.
