Job Description

Responsible for leading teams of quality auditors for generating audit reports & reporting on quality adherence program for Air India in compliance with the DGCA

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Activities

• Lead teams to Establish Independent Quality systems, Quality Audit programs & Quality Assurance programs to ensure quality standards are met
• Ensure the adequacy of maintenance and reliability programs & provide necessary guidance based on audit findings for development and effectiveness of maintenance program
• Establish necessary structure for Quality Department and manage resources of the department effectively and efficiently, to meet company’s business objectives
• Drive the development & standardization of audit checklists to keep uniformity in processes
• Organize Quality and Safety Review meetings with Head of Engineering and bring out significant degradation of Quality standards to attention of Accountable Manager
• Quality Audit
• Lead teams to ensure all Contracted & Sub-Contracted maintenance is performed in compliance with quality standards
• Ensuring the establishment of a Quality system and Quality Audit Program which addresses all of the areas of the CAMO compliance with CAR M including contracted/subcontracted activities
• Evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors in order to ensure compliance with company’s Quality standards and requirements and approval of such agencies
• Ensure that adequate numbers of trained and experienced auditors are available during audits and maintain record of all auditors including evaluation of their performance and capabilities
• Ensure that all engineering equipment, spares and engineering parts, manpower is sufficient to run operational activities
• Responsible for creating monthly/quarterly/yearly audit reports and make said report available to Head of Engineering
• In-Charge of correspondence with the DGCA regarding audits and action taken reports
• Ensure that all corrective actions are initiated, completed and efficient to meet the intended purpose
• Review the effectiveness of Civil Aviation Requirement, Approved Maintenance Organization and Continuing Airworthiness management Organization procedures, policies and systems
• Team Management
• Lead the team and provide direction on execution / implementation of tasks by prioritizing functional and organization goals
• Support team members in collaborating across multiple internal/external stakeholders
• Support, nurture and develop the team members’ skills

Educational Requirements

• An aircraft maintenance engineer qualification along with appropriate DGCA license or a relevant engineering degree (aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics).

Experience Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• 8-10 years relevant work experience in an aviation industry of which minimum five years must be in executive level
• Practical experience in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practice
