Job Description

Procure and ensure availability of all kinds of aircraft spare parts and services according to internal and external customer demands. Be fully responsible for fulfillment of orders on cost, timeliness and quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a solid relationship with suppliers and internal stakeholders (e.g. Planning, Product Management, COF, Quality, Data Management, Warehouse)
  • Request for quotations for ad-hoc demands
  • Create purchase orders and stock transfers as per demand
  • Ensure accuracy of purchase order data, especially agreed prices
  • Follow up on open orders and exceptions identified
  • Ensure timely fulfillment of orders placed
  • Follow-up on shipments
  • Monitor compliance of supplier’s performance to agreements (with focus on daily interaction)
  • Launch appropriate corrective actions on order level in case of an issue
  • Keep internal customers informed on relevant progress and changes
  • Maintain all relevant information / changes in SAP and other appropriate information tools
  • Answer order related queries from internal customers (e.g. Planning, COF) and suppliers
  • Manage return shipments to vendors
  • Follow-up on commercial discrepancies (e.g. over/under shipments, price issues)
  • Escalate supply issues, supplier or any other stakeholder’s non-compliance to the appropriate interface (e.g. Supplier Performance Management / Product Management)
  • Represent the Supply Management function of Satair in all aspects in a professional way

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Participate in supplier evaluations
  • Handle any other tasks/projects as delegated by immediate superior.
  • Optimize Satair business procedures through Satair’s IT systems, including  SAP and Business Objects
  • Support in continuous improvement initiatives

Job Requirements

  • 'A' level or equivalent (delete if not applicable for entity)
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbally
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
  • SAP R/3 knowledge
  • Experience in procurement operations
  • Understanding of LEAN fundamentals
  • Skilled in basic IT tools (Office products)
  • Industry knowledge (e.g. aircraft (component) manufacturing, aircraft maintenance organizations, aircraft spare parts distribution, etc.)
  • Team player in cross-functional environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated
  • Methodical, pay attention to detail
  • Pro-active and flexible
  • Ability to work under pressure and to operate in a conflict situation
  • Service oriented
  • Ability to work independently and in an international context
