Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for leveraging their experience, subject matter expertise, and customer-relationship skills to assist in growing our software business by proactively helping customers deploy ANSYS technology to deliver on their key business initiatives. The Senior Application Engineer (Digital Thread) is responsible for executing and leading business development projects that deliver business value for ANSYS at the Sector/Country or Division level. This position will be to leverage ANSYS products for the digital thread of the products design and implementation with a specific focus on tools that provide Concept of Operations (STK), Simulation Process Data Management (SPDM), and Process Integration and Design Optimization Tools (PIDO) with their connection to MBSE descriptive tools. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead/Assist in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
  • As a product expert with one or more Ansys products, interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows; analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform.
  • Responsible for articulating ANSYS’ value proposition which may encompass its entire suite of products; the presentations must affirm the sales message, differentiate ANSYS, and leave a strong and positive impression to audiences which can include senior company executives.
  • Participate in internal corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, presales/sales enablement, and professional growth; actively participate in the development and mentoring of team members.
  • Participate and present ANSYS simulation solution suites for different applications and publish papers in technical events.
  • Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features; test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems
  • Contribute to consulting services, conduct introductory and/or intermediate training classes.

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or other technical disciplines.
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in an engineering software environment.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge of at least one PIDO tools like ModelCenter, optiSLang…
  • Must have good understanding of concepts like Mission engineering, Simulation Process Data Management, MBSE, PIDO etc.
  • Must have hands-on experience in at least one Scripting language like C#/Java, Python, VBScript, etc.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant ANSYS software or knowledge of other commercial CAE software packages in solving industry-level problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects which are complex in nature and coordinate colleagues across diverse teams and locations
  • Ability to facilitate customer requirements process and then work with the customer to build out those requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers
  • Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and time management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • MS/MTech/PhD degree preferred.
  • Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance
  • Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus
  • Exposure to CAE data management
  • Flexibility and adaptability to learn and understand new technologies
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
