Job Description

Educational Qualifications         

  • Bachelor in Aeronautical Engineering or ICAO TYPE 2.
  • 4 years in Aircraft Maintenance division.
  • 4 years MCC experience.
  • Minimum of One type rated in B787 OR B737 or A330.

Skills/Knowledge           

  • Good hands on experience on aircraft maintenance and defects control
  • Technical and system expertise related to aircraft maintenance and defects control
  • Good time management skills

Job Description

  • Carry out duties as directed by Lead senior engineer and other activities of the MCC. Ensure all deferred defects on Oman Air fleet are tracked, controlled and planned maintenance is initiated in order to improve the overall serviceability and dispatch reliability of Oman air fleet.
  • Co-ordinate with Lead senior engineer, staff of engineering, flight operations and any other departments in the event of an AOG situation providing technical guidance and engineering solution in order to minimize the disruption to Oman Air operation.
  • Monitor reports of technical handling agents at Oman Air outstations to ensure Oman Air aircraft are handled in an effective and efficient manner, and in strict compliance with the requirements of the Airworthiness Regulatory Authority and Oman Air Quality Assurance standards.
  • Monitor closely all defects (including deferred defects and defects generated by aircraft systems such as ACARS, AHM & SKYWISE across the entire fleet, on a routine basis, analyzing and suggesting remedial / corrective actions which will enable Base / Line Maintenance to effectively utilize the available ground time in clearing such defects, thus ensuring higher level of maintenance and utilization of aircraft on continual basis.
  • Coordinate with aircraft maintenance planning department, aircraft scheduling department and base maintenance department to align the aircraft for defect certification.
  • Advice engineering management the serviceability status of Oman Air fleet by providing specified reports (Daily Deferred defects, Fleet activity reports and potential delay items), and special reports on aircraft incidents and matters of any technical importance to the company.
  • Available for On-Call support and to work on overtime or as applicable when required.
  • Assist and supplement to other sections / stations and fly with aircraft as flying engineer when required.
