Job Description

Educational Qualifications         

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering field minimum 8 years of relevant experience with the following minimum requirements:
  • -Five years of experience in aviation Engineering and Maintenance,
  • -Five years of experience in Structures and Cabin Interiors related work

OR

  • Diploma in an Engineering field or ICAO Type II licence, with a minimum of 11 years of relevant experience with the following minimum requirements:
  • -Seven years of experience in aviation Engineering and Maintenance,
  • -Six years of experience in Structures and Cabin Interiors related work

Skills/Knowledge           

  • Proficient in MS office.
  • Able to manage priorities and work to meet the target date and deadlines.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Good understanding of the airline overall business function is essential.

Job Description               

  • Review appropriate documentation from external parties (e.g., regulatory authority, manufacturer, design organizations, etc.), liaise as necessary with aforementioned parties, and issue relevant Engineering paperwork (e.g., verifying Engineering Orders, Technical Notices, etc.) as necessary.
  • Review, investigate and respond to required technical assistance in AMOS.
  • Perform technical assessment and relevant cost analysis of manufacturer’s recommended action (e.g., upgrade, modification, etc.) for Engineering Modification committee review.
  • Carry out local modification to comply with Oman Air fleet configuration standards and operational requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant MRO, in coordination with Technical Planning, on technical related queries for aircraft under heavy maintenance visit.
  • Provide technical support, as necessary, to other Engineering departments in the implementation of released Engineering Orders.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Maintenance, Materials, Product & Branding, etc.) for evaluation of potential product change for purpose of improving customer service or reducing operational cost.
  • Review commitment letters from new aircraft deliveries and provide necessary support to relevant stakeholders (e.g., DE Warranty, Materials for necessary PO, etc.)
  • Liaise and support DE Warranty trade on warranty claims.
  • Liaise, investigate and follow-up on in-service issues with internal stakeholders and liaise with relevant suppliers for final corrective action.
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to set cabin configuration and weight and balance requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to carry out stretcher installation demonstrations per fleet type for purpose of updating relevant paperwork (such as Technical Notices).
  • Perform aircraft structural damage assessment with Maintenance, obtain repair instructions from relevant manufacturer, obtain regulatory approval for aforementioned instructions, and issue covering Engineering Order.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders for compilation of damage assessment on damaged component which will be shipped to a repair facility.
  • Issue Engineering Order for any required modification prior entry into service of delivered aircraft.
  • Issue Engineering Order for any required de-modification / modification prior redelivery of affected aircraft to owner.
  • Perform assessment of affected aircraft structural damage and associated repair data and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with lease return requirements, including all necessary paperwork.
  • Review aircraft weight reports and update any related paperwork and relevant entries in AMOS.
  • Provide necessary assistance to Maintenance in carrying out actual weighing and preparing weight report.
  • Prepare and verify Weight & Balance amendment for newly delivered aircraft and perform necessary action in AMOS.
  • Train, guide and coach subordinates in light of career development and increased responsibilities.
  • Review EPM procedures and if found warranted, provide recommendations to fit the current operational requirements into AMOS implementation processes.
  • Deputize direct supervisor during his absence as requested.
