Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) based in Bangalore & Chennai, India is engaged in the development of advanced Aerospace and Aviation technologies and products. Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Bangalore, India. This position will report to Senior Engineering Manager in Software Engineering group in BIETC. The hired candidate will lead customer facing implementation projects in the Crew & Network Operations domain.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with client on management and senior management level throughout pre-sales, implementation and delivery stages of airline crew management IT solutions contracts.
• Responsible for crew solutions project on time delivery, profitability and client value. Coordinates resource assignments together with implementation managers.
• Partners horizontally & vertically throughout all portions of Boeing & customer value streams to ensure alignment & success.
• Serves as liaison between project teams, product teams, technical development, and finance and line management.
• Participates in mechanisms for establishing and monitoring project/program change management processes and decisions.
• Promotes efficiency and quality initiatives in implementation projects.
• Facilitates and contributes in project key meetings such as kick-off, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, close-out, lessons learned and steering committees.
• During pre-sales stage, defines delivery strategies and negotiates implementation project contractual agreements.
• Applies project management methodologies, systems, tools and quality standards as defined by Boeing Crew Implementation and industry best practices.
• Responsible for project delivery on time, profitability and client value. Ensures project teams are executing as planned by monitoring high-level progress and major deliveries. Determines options and appropriate actions to ensure and improve project performance.
• Facilitates communication of project health and status with project teams, stakeholders and sponsors and reports to or consults with senior level management (internal and external). Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with clients on senior management level and interacts as the primary customer contact on frequent basis. Leads and participates in internal and external steering committees.
• Provides motivation, leadership and mentors project team members. Provides feedback and performance assessments to appropriate senior management in a timely manner and addresses and helps resolve conflict among project teams or team members.
• Oversees and participates in escalated risk, issue and opportunity identification and mitigation. Provides decisions and liaises internally and externally to remove impediments and road blocks. Negotiates project changes in change management board meetings.
• During the pre-sales stage, defines project setup and strategy, identifies resource requirements and constraints for implementation project, approves estimates and develops high-level integrated project plans including critical path. Responsible for supporting and ensuring technical / programmatic support to Boeing Sales team during negotiating implementation project contractual items ensuring commitments to clients are realistic.
• Continuously seeks to expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of project management best practices.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 12+ years of total work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology is required.
• Experience in managing agile software development teams is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience in project management of customer facing software projects with responsibilities including resource planning and project delivery
• Experience in Airline Operations specially in Crew Management solutions experience is highly beneficial
• Experience in a SCRUM set up is beneficial
• Strong communication skills, both written & verbal with all levels of personnel & leadership
• Experience working in a global organization is preferred.

Desired Skills (Preferred Skills):

• Good social and communication skills in proposal preparation, presentation, clarification & report writing for all levels. Proficiency in English is essential.

• Ability to transform solutions to complex technical challenges into effective & easy to comprehend priorities & integrated plans
• Complex software project management, implementation, configuration and delivery
• Leadership skills is advantageous

• Ability to work with Microsoft Professional applications (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Jira and Confluence experience is beneficial
