Job Description

The function of this position is to monitor compliance with, and the adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices. The primary role is to verify, by monitoring activity in the fields of flight operations, crew training and ground operations, that the standards required by the Authority, and any additional requirements defined by Scoot, are being carried out.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Assurance

• Utilising the safety assurance resources available, develop, monitor and maintain Scoot’s safety assurance programme in relation to operations and providing supporting guidance to stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood, applied and used consistently.
• Analyse incident root cause, monitor and identify operational trends, and propose mitigative actions to prevent recurrence through the Flight Data Analysis Programme, Incident Reporting, etc.
• Centrally control lessons learned data to record results to share with stakeholders to better understand operating performance, enable risk assessment and implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
• Reporting the progress of safety assurance at regular intervals to the appropriate level of management.

Safety Management

• Participate in all safety-related activities within the requirements of the safety program with respect to the Safety Management System, ANR and industry best practices.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of Scoot’s Safety Management System and the Department Procedures Manual.
• Assist with the management and administration of occurrence reports and investigation reports, including escalation and quality control of reports, and highlighting reportable safety matters to internal stakeholders and submissions to the Authority in accordance with requirements of the ANR.
• Assist in monitoring of incident trends and raise potential issues as needed.

Safety Promotion

• Promote safety that supports the safety culture of the organisation through identification and sharing of safety lessons that enables the continuous improvement process.
• Utilising internal and external sources, develop and implement appropriate safety education, training and promotion programs including safety publications, promotional material and communication.
• Acts as an information conduit to bring safety issues to the attention of management and to deliver safety information to the organization’s staff, contractors and stakeholders.

Others

• Attend staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
• Undertake special projects and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in aviation safety.
• Candidate with prior flying or cabin crew experience are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge in flight data analysis is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of safety management systems is preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Word.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills in order to be able to interface with all levels of personnel.
• Highly perceptive and methodical.
• Strong work ethic and a self-starter, while being able to operate as part of a team.
