Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drafting mission orbit and operational requirements.
• Designing, modelling and optimizing orbit trajectories and maneuvers.
• Performing orbit simulations and analysis required for orbit design as well as for FoV studies, illumination and energy balance studies required for GNC, Power and Thermal subsystem designs.
• Formulating the concept of operations for mission (CONOPS).
• Contributing to mission design and trade studies.
• Supporting the development of flight dynamics software.
• Supporting mission operations of the spacecraft including flight dynamics operations and maneuver planning and execution.

Key Requirements:

• Master's in Aerospace/Astronautical Engineering/Physics or comparable field (with relevant research/work experience).
• 3+ years in Orbits and trajectory design.
• Fundamental knowledge of Orbital Mechanics and Flight dynamics.
• Experience in Trajectory Design and Optimization.
• Acute understanding of operational aspects of mission design.
• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB and/or Python.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Preference shall be given to candidates having 5+ years of experience in Orbits and trajectory design, including experience with real-time mission operations.
• Orbit simulation experience with one of the mission design software like STK/GMAT/Freeflyer etc.
• Experience with designing and optimization of low thrust trajectories.
• Fundamental knowledge of Guidance Navigation and Control Systems for Satellites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with own team and cross-functional teams.
