The job scope requires supervision of all activities under the ambit of the Fleet Technical Support section of the Flight Operations Technical Department - such activities include (but not limited to)
All Performance Engineering related activities
Regulatory based (local as well as other Countries)
Manual content maintenance, Special Operations approvals, Aircraft induction, etc.)
Fuel Optimization, Carbon Emissions Monitoring, liaison with OEMs, liaison with other cross-functional Divisions, etc
Evaluate and implement new Aircraft system or modification that will have an impact on EFB Systems
Key Responsibilities
Provide operation-related technical support to Flight Operations Management for the day-to-day operations of the entire fleet
Assist Flight Operations Management decision process by providing appropriate airplane performance and airport /terrain/EDTO studies and evaluations to Flight Operations for the expansion and enhancement of the current Fleet operations (takeoff/inflight/landing performance calculations, payload for Network Planning)
Liaise and coordinate with aircraft Manufacturers (& other OEMs), IOCC, NPD, Engineering for technical/operational support
Provide support for Flight Operations Training for Aircraft Performance, EDTO, EFB, PBN and other Special Operations, new Pilot Inductions and Refreshers
Support Flight Operations in pre-delivery preparations to post-delivery actions of new aircraft delivery
Supervise the Flight Operations Fuel Management (Monthly fuel analysis, tracking & presentation of Fuel Optimization measures, Fuel Budgeting and other related fuel subjects)
Supervise the CORSIA Cell for Regulatory submissions & approvals along with conduct of the external Audit. Activities extend to other Emissions Monitoring schemes as may be applicable to the Company scope
Conduct Pre-Ops Stations studies for Flight Operations submission to DGCA
Supervise EFB program and ensure the performance databases generated conform to requirements and standards
Coordinate for EFB performance database loading, Data Management & Distribution (DDM) to ensure provision of the latest version of electronic manuals, performance database, electronic checklists, softwares applicable to Company operations
Assist Flight Operations Management in all Regulatory (DGCA and/or other Regulatory Bodies) approvals (i.e., Manuals, new destinations, Special Operations approvals)
Supervise Aircraft Performance Monitoring process (Monthly APD Tracking and updating) & associated liaising with Engineering
Supervise for ARC (Aircraft Performance Certificate) activity - Range and performance of radio communication & Navigation equipment certificate and Aircraft Flight manual status certificate
Assist CP Technical for IOSA / Internal Audit
Assist Flight Operations in notifying crew of pertinent changes in procedures or instructions/information through the timely issue of INTAMs, TBs, FSIs
Aerodrome obstacle study and preparation of database for performance calculation
Coordinate with Flight Dispatch for review of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for any operational impact within the Company network and for the necessary follow-up actions (i.e. issuing of Airport Analysis charts, Internal Notice to Airmen (INTAM), changes to schedules, etc.)
Supervise calculation of Aerodrome Operating Minima for the required Stations Review and update Holdover Time (HOT) information for deicing / anti-icing fluid
Maintain and ensure accuracy of contents, timely update and availability of technical information and manuals (namely FSI, Ops Manual, MEL, Special Ops Manual, Performance Manual, AFM, QRH and FCOM) for Fleet operations)
Ensure that all operational procedures and processes are in place for any new or modified EFB system
Plan and perform user acceptance test on all EFB and other Mobile applications/software installed on the user devices
Define and set the requirements for new EFB hardware/Software
Coordinate all EFB related projects with all relevant departments
Run the implementation of new solutions in coordination with various stakeholders
Validate the MEL and SOP changes related to EFB and ensure that it is in accordance to the regulatory recommendations and requirements working closely with the flight Operations Engineers
Perform in risk assessments
Support the Manager EFB in the selection process for EFB and connectivity options for new Aircraft types
Optimize the workflow and processes between FTS and other sections/departments
Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place
Skills/Attributes
Proficient with Performance Engineeringand EFB related activities
Knowledge of & experience with preparation of regulatory compliances and approval processes
Ability to define and document technical processes as required
Ability to manage multiple projects & deadlines
Good in collaborating with different stakeholders and drive the common agendas Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Excellent with Project Management tools/ Adobe pdf/ XML editor
Proficient with MS office
People Management Experience is essential
Work Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar role in Flight Operations with a reputed airline
Qualification
Graduate in Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university
Adequate experience with iOS/WIN tablet technologies (hardware and software)
A background in Aeronautical Engineering is desirable
