Job Description Summary

The Staff Engineer – Fleet Management reports to the GE90/GP7200 Customer Technology Programs (CTP) Director and will assume ownership of the GP2700 product line from a CTP perspective. This includes partnering with the broader GP7200 community across Engineering, Commercial Engines and Services to continuously improve customer issue resolution timeliness, time on wing (TOW), shop visit turnaround time (TAT), material demand forecasting and CSA profitability.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Customer Program Managers (CPM’s) to define and execute the maintenance strategy for assigned GP7200 customer contracts including engine removal planning
  • Ensure that all GP7200 shop visits are well planned and executed from a technical, cost and schedule perspective through continuous oversight
  • Stage formal cross functional Gate Reviews as shop visits progress to foster transparency and accountability
  • Partner with PSE, CPM’s and the rest of the CTP team to identify and execute GP7200 Workscope Planning Guide, Customer Repair Specifications and TOW optimization opportunities for assigned contracts
  • Partner with PSE, Services Technology and the local shop to identify, execute and industrialize technical capabilities in the areas of inspection, maintenance and repair
  • Provide 24x7 technical support to the local shop and support readiness activities
  • Follow and promote all established GE Aviation Engineering Policies and Procedures and ensure that all technical data is precise and properly documented
  • Formulate, implement and continuously communicate plans to achieve technical and program requirements with appropriate cost, schedule and risk trades
  • Identify need for technical and program reviews within the GP7200 community and participate both as a leader and reviewer
  • Foster and inspire a collaborative work environment built on trust, proactive communication, clear roles & responsibilities, empathy and transparency

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Fleet Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
