Main Objectives

Under the supervision of the HDQ Security Shift Supervisor, the jobholder must ensure that maximum protection of the Company’s assets, passengers, staff and operations is achieved. 

Main Duties

• Ensure access control of aircraft when it is on ground. Carry out pre-boarding search along with crew to ensure that no item is left behind by anyone during it’s cleaning and maintenance.
• Ensure that any items loaded on board GF aircraft like, baggage, cargo, mail, courier, catering, engineering stores are safe and loaded only after ensuring that they have been protected from illegal interference from the time of its acceptance until its loaded in the aircraft.
• Monitor baggage re-conciliation, excess baggage collection and prevent pilferage from parked aircrafts.
• Conduct regular patrolling and inspections of all station facilities and premises and submit daily reports to HDQ Security Shift Supervisor.
• Carry out frequent security inspection of airport operations/facilities like,custom bonded stores, cargo warehouses, catering units and GF premises to ensure that the correct procedures are being followed and that the areas are secure.
• Make security arrangements for VVIP passengers on GF flights out of the airport, personally escorting passengers or crew as required to ensure their safety.
• Monitor security performance of third party security guards and take immediate corrective action and report if standards fall below acceptable level.
• Where applicable, will supervise/operate GF X-Ray and other security equipments.
• Check ID passes and search vehicles with special regard to ensuring that prohibited items are not allowed.  Ensuring that no facilities are left unsecured or unattended at any time.
• Attends various areas and facilities to ensure GF sites and assets are protected from unlawful interference. Compile reports on security incidents.
• From time to time to perform special security related duties such inadmissible or deportee passenger escort, special guarding etc. These functions will entail special training regarding passenger restraint procedures and techniques.
• Familiarize with Gulf Air Security Programme and undertake detailed on-the-job-training and to attend courses etc.

Education & Training

Education to secondary school level.

Good personal interactions skills.

Good English / Arabic / local language skills and ability to act with firmness and confidence.

Experience

• prefereably experience in police, military or civilian security or aviation environment.
• The candidate MUST satisfactorily complete:
  • The mandatory pre-employment background security checks.
  • The Local Airport ID Badge application process.
  • A Basic Aviation Security Awareness Training Course.
• The candidate must be medically fit with a satisfactory standard of eyesight and hearing.
• The job holder must be in possession of a valid driving licence.
