Technical/Functional Skills     

  • Excellent knowledge on Aero engine and it’s Units/Components
  • Should be able to understand Design and Make supplier Units Validation & Verification methods, Qualification Methods, Manufacturing methods, respective unit drawings and required technical approval process.
  • Commercial and contracting experience including responsibility for managing a substantive customer / supplier / partner relationship 
  • Sound business and commercial acumen including the ability to interpret commercial issues and understand the commercial components of deals and how to influence them.
  • Work experience on Teamcenter, UG-NX etc. 
  • Hands-on experience on DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Project Management and related tools & techniques

Experience Required : Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineer with 5 -15 Years of experience in Aero-engine Design and Make Supplier units/components

Roles & Responsibilities         

  • Responsible for liaising with suppliers to review designs proposed, using technical judgement to make recommendations for progression through appropriate technical approval process.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and negotiate with supplier on cost considering defined budget and timeline aspects considering priority for customer.
  • Should be able to understand supplier unit’s defined requirements and verify supplier units as per customer standard prompt list. 
  • Experience on control system unit/equipment verification & validation strategy to ensure if it meets the requirements and preparation of compliance matrix. 
  • Ability to collaborate with the supplier to ensure that correct suppliers services and equipment’s are available to support the engineering execution including supplier unit’s capability review against defined requirements.
  • Responsible for the functional and physical integration of the units in the system (engine / aircraft), configuring the design solution by progressing the design solution through the appropriate governance processes, and support engine running, testing and production, by providing acquired project specific control system knowledge.
  • Execute sub-system integration process including the appropriate use of Systems Engineering and Robust Design tools to ensure that the technical attributes of the Sub-system design meet the agreed requirements.
  • Responsible for completion of documentation to support qualification/certification related to the design solution, including reviewing supplier supporting documentation and the generation of documentation to support flight approval.
  • Identify and investigate risks through DFMEA & PFMEA and set the strategy for resolving them. Application of Robust Design, Systems Engineering, Risk Management (xFMEA) and Design in Context t o ensure right first time can be achieved.
  • To write and understand the Component Requirement Documents
  • Responsible for creation and delivery of the technical review packs, Design definition reports, Interface documents, coordination memos etc.
  • Collaborate and communicate with suppliers and Specialists (Stress, Materials, Manufacturing etc.) to deliver solution within agreed timelines
  • Drive self and team to ensure the robustness of the engineered solutions.
  • Deliver design and/or integrate solutions for components and assemblies, in consideration of safety, manufacturing capability, product physical and functional robustness, via conventional and future state approaches.

Preferable Skills          

  • APQP industry standard process 
  • Good knowledge at GD & T and Tolerance stack-up
  • Good knowledge of aero engine standards & specifications 

Generic Managerial Skills       

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational, time management, planning and follow-up skills
