In a nutshell

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Project Manager to support the supply chain management team in the scoping of supply chain project opportunities that will support the strategic and business objectives of Virgin Atlantic to drive operational improvements and cost efficiencies.


Day to day

To aid in the delivery of strategic SCM projects. Being a deputised member of the SCM management team, for the purposes of the project(s) in scope.

Manage project delivery, including budget management, resource allocation, and delivery to schedule whilst maintain all supply chain operational and regulatory requirements.

To work cross-functionally across Supply Chain, with internal and external suppliers to assist in the delivery of Supply Chain initiatives and projects.

Focus of the role is on SC projects to improve performance, network design, or cost efficiency. Whereby the role holder may work on one larger project or on a combination of SC projects at any one time.

Although the role reports directly to the Head of Supply Chain, it requires interaction within the functional management level specifically within: Technical Stores and Logistics, Sourcing & Inventory, Financial Inventory, Component Maintenance & Warranty, and AOG Desk.


About you

Are you an experienced, supply chain professional, with experience in project management? If so, we think you would love this role! We seek people with the following skills and experience:

- High Level of numeracy, coupled with a strong detailed analytical skillset
- Commercial acumen; able to balance operational decisions with the most efficient & effective cost base
- Strong Influencing skills
- Strong budgeting skills
- Intellectually able to assimilate and process complex data from a range of sources
- Strong IT skills especially in Ultramain and MS Excel
- Able to objectively challenge peers and senior managers in an appropriate manner
- Able to operate extremely well within time, conflict and volume of work
- Ability to drive through change & achieve targeted results
