Job Description

Responsible for managing the assigned Platform Maintenance Operations activities (i.e. planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance and all contract requirements and deliverables, etc.) by providing cost-effective maintenance and repair services to the aircrafts and assets.Ensuring proactive serviceability and availability of the customer’s aircrafts and equipment. Also, manages the allocation and performance of the heavy maintenance teams to execute action plans and secure the availability and “safe release” of the Aircraft assigned fleet in line with business operational needs and agreed targets. And receives direct supervision from the operations Manager.

Will also be responsible for

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the platform Maintenance Operations section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
  • Under the direction of the Manager Operations, manages the implementation of the maintenance planning at the assigned base to ensure that repair and maintenance services are accomplished efficiently in the most productive and cost effective manner.
  • Supports the Operations Manager with the development of optimum maintenance planning targets covering maintenance efficiencies and availability at the base, ensuring reliability and performance improvement to improve the maintenance effectiveness and speed of service
  • Contributes to the development of maintenance schedules, and implements them as part of operation and maintenance planning to execute on time and scheduled maintenance in order to ensure that aircrafts are working to their optimum efficiency and capability.
  • Supports the Operations Manager in the coordination of maintenance planning activities at the base, maintenance scheduling short and long term, base capability communication and workload planning and management to ensure smooth functioning of the base’s activities and avoiding possible delays and maintenance failures.
  • Responsible for oversight guidance and counseling of all personnel assigned to that section.
  • Review processes and procedures and providing recommended changes to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manages the resolution of the operational day-to-day maintenance problems to ensure a highly efficient, effective and quality service is extended to customers’ aircrafts at the base.
  • Ensures that all aircraft maintenance activities take place in an efficient, compliant and safe manner to assure a high quality of maintenance operations at the base.
  • Ensures that military aircraft maintenance services are continuously available to customers so that aircrafts are operational and ready to fly when required and at a level that meets the required standards.
  • Develops preventative maintenance schedules to cover all relevant aircraft maintenance so that it is maintained in optimum working order and breakdowns are minimized.
  • Monitors the usage of materials, spares and consumables to ensure that consumption is consistent with budgeted assumptions.
  • Contributes towards the on-going review of the physical condition of the base operational assets to ensure that those assets are in a suitable condition to allow GAL to fulfil its strategic objectives and comply with any relevant legislation.
  • Manages the achievement of objectives by setting individual goals and objectives, managing performance, developing staff and providing formal and informal feedback in order to maximizes overall performance and engagement.
  • Assists the Supply Chain function in the negotiations with contractors providing a clear statement of work and understanding
  • Maintains relationships with third-party providers, through the Supply Chain function, of operational and maintenance personnel so that GAL is able to fulfill its operational service, safety, environmental and cost targets without unnecessary addition to the company are fixed overhead
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Maintenance Operations at the Facility to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality aircraft maintenance service and a responsible environmental attitude
  • Sponsors opportunities to take part in change initiatives, programs and projects that reflect international best practices and changes in the competitive environment.
  • Ensures direct reports adhere to and support all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls, promoting employee safety, legislative compliance and promotes a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
  • Prepares statements and reports, timely and accurately to meet GAL and departmental requirements, policies and standards.
  • Prepares function statements and reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the requirements of GAL and department policies and standards.
  • Must conduct interviews when required to fill vacancies within section.
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • May temporarily assume the duties of Aviation Maintenance Manager as directed.
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

QUALIFICATION

  •  -Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace maintenance, Technical Diploma with skill level 7 or 9 or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

  •  -Minimum of 8 - 10 years’ experience in an aerospace maintenance and aircraft operating environment, preferably in military, of which at least 1 years in a similar position.
  • -Expert in maintenance processes and procedures.
  • -Expert of OEM maintenance manuals
