Fully responsible for successful execution of Engineering Projects.

The Project Manager manages projects with responsibility for successful execution:
* Executes the project within the defined requirements (e.g. budget, time, functionality).
* Ensures business success and satisfaction of the customer and ensures professional stakeholder management.
* Ensures timely decisions on open issues, escalating if necessary.
In the context of Engineering:
* Manages a network of technical specialists in order to realize customer specific components, systems or solutions.
* Coordinates the Engineering disciplines and the cooperation with involved regional Engineering units including their interfaces.
* Performs technical risk management.
* Acts as interface to PM@Siemens, e.g. responsible for technical risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

As our new Technical Project Manager (Engineering manager) you will be responsible for Rotor & Nacelle components with focus on design, supporting projects in sales, contract negotiations, production, pre-assembly, installation & commissioning as well as ensuring overall compliance with respect to engineering tasks of the sub-package.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintain time schedule and budget for the sub-package.
  • Ensure interdisciplinary (Tower, Electrical, SCADA) coordination between sub-packages.
  • Deliver complete documentation package internally.
  • Resource allocation in cooperation with the project manager and line management.
  • Proactive approach to knowledge sharing among Engineering Managers.
  • Develops technological concepts as input for system and solution development.
  • Scope, Risk and Stakeholder Management
  • Work with various stakeholders within the organization to identify and assess product risks. Must have the ability to think clearly to root causes and make logical decisions. Should have the ability to recommend, convince, and implement the most pragmatic solutions

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s in mechanical, industrial, manufacture, technology or offshore engineering and is used to handle many different stakeholders and interfaces. You preferably have relevant experience from offshore or the wind industry and PM training (CAPM or PMP equivalent) with PM experience

  • Understand the importance of prioritizing time and tasks with a healthy amount of pragmatism
  • Be and excellent communicator
  • Be able to work in an international environment and possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing

Desired Qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical / Electrical / Aero / Mechatronics engineering etc.,
  • Should have 12+ years of total experience, with minimum 5 years of experience as engineering manager/technical project manager in wind / rail / aero / heavy machinery etc.,
  • Must have handled 1 or 2 projects as engineering manager / technical project manager
  • Should have strong technical background to envision unique technical challenges in every project and to develop and agree optimal technical specifications
  • Possess strong capabilities to efficiently manage technical specifications to meet contractual requirements
  • Must have had cross-functional experience working with various cross-functional teams globally
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with technicians and Chief Engineers (all levels)
  • Strong, analytic and decision-making skills
  • Possess strong positive attitude, self-initiative, responsible and ownership mindset
  • Occasional business related domestic and international travel required
