Job Description

1. Interact with engineers, subject matter experts, and production personnel to create and edit assembly and test work instructions or specifications

2. Interpret engineering documentation to create accurate technician-oriented work instructions and process documents that fully meet design intent

3. Creatively produce solutions for special projects: technical, training, graphic design, or workflow development

4. Work with documents within version control software and documentation release systems in order to preserve and manage content integrity and configuration

5. Ability to work under deadlines and to deliver in the midst of changes in project direction

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of experience in the technical writing or planning field

2. Prior experience in planning or technical writing

Preferred Skills & Experience :

1. Demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts in various formats for different audience needs

2. Familiarity with single-source publishing and content management software

3. Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse co-workers and personalities in engineering, production, and management; to have insight into their changing needs

4. Ability to quickly learn, absorb, and apply technical content to further develop understanding of electronics assembly and/or test processes

5. Technical writing experience in automotive, defence or aviation industries

6. Familiarity with mechanical processes in a manufacturing environment

7. Capacity to read and understand technical drawings and schematics (electrical & mechanical)

8. Strong analytical, project management, computer, communication, and writing skills (typing, spelling, grammar)

9. Experience with creation and editing of 2D and 3D graphics, both raster- and vector-based

10. Experience with Adobe Acrobat

11. Experience with electronics

12. Experience converting engineering instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and ability levels

13. Experience using Microsoft Office products (especially: Word)

14. Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
