Job Description

Position Summary

The main purpose of this position is to lead a team to effectively provide technical support to queries associated with ROV and its equipment. It includes preparing the processes/ procedures for providing direction to team members to achieve the set departmental goals and also ensure consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility.
Functions

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential

  • Demonstrate effective Leadership and Team management skills.
  • Own and manage all the core process.
  • Set department goals/objectives and deadlines as per previous year’s performance and best industry practices and standards to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Give timely inputs to Senior management regarding the progress of the team objectives as well as departmental tasks.
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended requestor
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create and maintain the information architecture and develop and maintain templates for documents.
  • Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals. Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
  • Publish documents as per required formats.
  • Supervise day to day operations and delegate tasks for ensuring skill development of team members.
  • Handle escalated issues and provide directions to the team members in resolving technical queries associated with ROV and its equipment.
  • Verify technical procedures/documentation prepared by team members for addressing issues/ requirements of offshore and onshore personnel.
  • Review Technical database/ procedures prepared by team members based on inputs from Subject Matter Experts and previous data of queries/ issues resolved for future reference.

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • Review processes and identify improvement areas using periodic analysis and feedback received from customers.
  • Investigate customer complaints/ non conformances using root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate team performance using Support Centre metrics, quality assurance monitoring, and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • Identify training requirements of team members and provide coaching using available resources.
  • Recognize exceptional performance, appreciate accomplishments and organize team building activities to motivate team members
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.

Safety

  • Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to proactively ensure a safe working environment.
  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
  • Proactively identify workplace hazards and suggest improvements to enhance the safety and quality of the work environment.

Other

  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence and precision following the guidelines of the Integrated Management System of the company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environment friendly substances and better practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the work environment .

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and involves leading a team of Administrators, Engineering assistants and Support Engineers.

Reporting Relationship

  • Robotics Support Manager.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • TECH in ELECTRONICS /ELECTRICAL / MECHANICAL Engineering (E)
  • Able to work in shifts 42.5 hours (weekly), (Morning, Evening, Night & Weekends) (E)
  • Minimum 5 year of experience as Support Engineer in Robotics Support Centre (E)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other Characteristics

  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills in English
  • Working Knowledge of Hydraulics & Electrical Distribution Systems
  • Highly independent and proactive
  • Knowledge of MS-Office and computer fundamentals
  • Mentoring and Leadership skills

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
