SQL Administrator will be part of the Information Management (IM) function.

The SQL L3 Admin should have hands-on experience on both development and support of SQL Database and would be working in close cooperation of the application owner and architect.The consultant would play a key role in managing and maintaining a sound production environment.  In addition, the consultant should be experienced in end to end incident / problem management. The consultant will work in an international, distributed and multi-functional team; using an agile mindset and methodology. 

Responsibilities

• The role will be involved in support of a highly critical production environment and will be engaged in architecture, design and deployment of midrange systems along with a team of technically competent professionals.
• Understanding and Performing tasks related to Implementation, Design installation and configuration of all Database products.
• Coordinate and manage multiple problems and projects with different teams at the same time
• Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability
• Work with teammates, clients and other teams to identify and address systems problems
• Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
• Demonstrate ownership and responsibility in all assignments
• Enough expertise to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the process and infrastructure design.Provide L3 level support
• Candidate must have the ability to create business cases and present the architecture and design that they create
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
• Ability to participate and contribute during crisis times, assist team members/leads/customer/Senior management, as needed
• Show adaptability and flexibility in work to suit business requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Evaluate the Database Server Hardware/Software and recommend optimization balance 
• Define/Recommend/Maintain database Standards and Architecture
• Future Release management for database/instance and Impact Analysis.
• Research/Recommend Migration/Up gradation
• Installation & Configuration of MS SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016
• Configuration knowledge in Advanced features of SQL Server 2012/2014/2016.
• Develop, implement, administer and maintain security and integrity of the Application databases.
• Advance Database Performance Tuning - Instance, Database, OS Parameters
• Should be able to perform database reorganization
• Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies
• Good Working experience of Installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting of Failover Clustering, Always on Availability, Mirroring, Log shipping,
• Having experience of DR setup through various sync methods.
• Designing strategy towards Capacity Management (Growth) for DB tracks.
• Recommending Database Security Policy, Auditing
• Awareness of latest database trends and Technologies
• Configuration experience in SQL Server Integration & Reporting Services
• Knowledge in Cloud Integration
• Extensive hands-on technical skills to cover installation, configuration, administration and advanced troubleshooting
• Experience of working on ITIL ticketing systems (SNOW, Remedy), understand ITIL framework
• Experience in representation in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
• - Strong verbal/written communication skills
