Job Description

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defense forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and development of tooling concept for new composite parts starting from component level fabrication to Final Assembly of product.
• Working with external vendors in getting the tools fabricated as per the required quality criteria.
• Work with process engineers to quality the tools and molds for production release.
• Set up the maintenance schedule and qualification schedule of molds, tools and fixtures
• For manufacturing outsourcing, the tools and fixtures handover process and their maintenance have to be monitored.
• To build a team competency in tooling and fixture design for different manufacturing processes like vacuum casting, plastic injection molding, sheet metal forming, etc.
• Take ownership of CAM files and programs as and when required for the manufacturing of components
• Design, develop and manufacture quality aids like templates, inspection jigs/fixtures, go no-go gauge, etc. for the inspection process
• Experience in design, modification, and disposition of manufacturing tools to support the build of production parts.
• Experience with production tool strings, assembly instructions, tool order creation, tool liaison, and Geometric Dimensioning Tolerances (GDT).
• Undertake DFM/DFA activities to guide design team for transitioning to manufacturing of the product
• Undertake tolerance stack up analysis for assemblies to ascertain the tolerances of components.

Must have:

• Experience in CATIA MES, CPM and GSD and SolidWorks in general
• Proficiency in GD&T
• Low-cost mold and fixture design for prototyping
• Material knowledge for the tool material selection
• Thermal Analysis for composite molds is good to have and an added advantage
• Working knowledge of different kinds of composite manufacturing processes like Wet layup, prepregs layup, RTM molding, etc.

Basic Requirement:

• Bachelors/Masters (Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering)
• 7+ years of experience in aerospace composite manufacturing industry
