Job Description

Develop and manage the delivery of security training plans in line with business needs, regulatory requirements and Emirates Group Corporate Values. Identify security training needs for staff to ensure a safe and secure environment for airline business operations, delivering training through centralised (cabin crew, flight deck, ground crew), decentralised (EKAS, dnata) and third party structures.

 Job Outline:

• Design, implement and manage a dynamic model for delivery of training programmes across allocated cabin crew, ground crew, corporate and third party communities, to support Group Security strategic plans and overall business needs. Oversee the design and delivery of AVSEC Training programmes for Initial Pilots, Abinitio, Recurrent ? Flight & Cabin Crew and promotional courses. This includes continued development of a blended learning environment through the development and continuous improvement of e-learning modules, which can easily be accessed by all necessary flight and cabin crew.
• Develop, manage and control the distance and e-learning programs in the AVSEC (aviation security) training certification for cabin and ground crew as well as staff in outstations of EK, selected dnata overseas joint ventures and Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC), using the e-learning and controlled certification tests. Ensure that regulatory training and certification of competence is addressed to meet role requirements and internal/external audit standards (i.e. GCAA, ICAO, IATA?).
• Monitor, evaluate and review impact and contribution of security training programmes on employee performance and effect appropriate changes as and when necessary by liaising with the relevant departments. This includes maintenance of records, scheduling of initial and refresher course and the development of e-learning training products. Oversee the compilation of statistical data on Crew Security Incidents from reports to be used for Training Needs Analysis for all courses.
• In collaboration with M-ST, ensure that all ACTU training syllabi & content is fully compliant with national and international regulations and that the allocated elements of the AVSEC education programme meet the academic requirements of tertiary institutions like Edith Cowan University etc. and can be accorded credit hours towards diploma and or degree programmes that are run by the tertiary institutions. Responsible for AVSEC aircrew training for all internal Flight Operations compliance audits conducted within training. Accountable to identify root cause and preventative solutions for future mitigation of AVSEC related areas.

• Plan and implement continuous professional development of the team by giving guidance on their performance and development plans to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. Optimise Trainer productivity whilst assuring the quality of training output.
• Drive business development opportunities effectively by negotiating and agreeing contracts to maximize the return on investment of security training facilities and equipment and increase revenue. Manage third party training initiatives through the centre of aviation and security studies with industry AVSEC training partners including Dubai Airport Police, ICAO, Green Light, AVSECO, etc.?
• Drive business process improvements to ensure Emirates remains a market leader in the field of security training by benchmarking our methods and practices against other organizations. Review and evaluate feedback from line managers, team members and training participants and implement improvements to ensure we are fully leveraging delivery platforms to meet the dynamic and mobile nature of the Group?s workforce.
• Ensure Quality Assurance Management within Aircrew Training, in line with the continuous improvement drive of Group Security. Review & update ACTU SOP Manual and maintain a high standard in relation to Quality Control Circle Projects, individual performance and maintenance of training records for Flight and Cabin Crew. In support of Manager AST&E to prepare ACTU team for Dubai Quality Awards and Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award
• Proactively build relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Develop and lead a collaborative working relationship with key internal subject matter experts in Flight Training, Flight Operations, SEP , Group Medical and Group Safety. This is to ensure Emirates establishes a visible and consistent organisational approach to meeting regulatory requirements
• Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are managed and completed within agreed time frames, to specification, and within budget. This will involve working across professional boundaries at various levels of the organisational structure. Provide representation of AVSEC where required on projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Security (General) : 8+ Years
• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :Degree in learning and development or in another business related discipline Experience in learning and development preferrably in an aviation security environment.

Knowledge/skills: - Preferably holder of ICAO certification in aviation security.

• Knowledge of International Terrorism and Risk Prevention would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of the NCASTP (national civil aviation security programme).
• Knowledge of Aviation security issues and airport security services.
