Job Objectives

The Jobholder, as a member of the Flight Hour Services (FHS) entity, reports to the TSP Engineering Manager for Singapore Airlines. The Jobholder is responsible for the oversight, delivery and performance of the Heavy Maintenance & Structure activities provided to Customers on FHS-TSP contracts.

In her/his function, the job holder supervises her/his engineering resources, based in Singapore, responsible for maintaining Singapore Airlines A380 Fleet and support A320 TGW to ensure the HM Checks TAT is met in line with airworthiness requirements EASA and CAAS and in accordance with Airbus Technical Standards and FHS Financial interests.

Job Responsibilities

The Heavy Maintenance & Project Manager will endorse the key following activities:

  • Ensure engineering technical follow-up and defect analysis in collaboration with Toulouse Headquarter and Singapore airlines,
  • Ensure compliance with Regulation, Airworthiness and Quality standards
  • Ensure regular reporting on his/her different scopes of activity, for achievement, performance and improvement demonstration,
  • Support globally the engineering activities “Make or Buy” performed for the Heavy Maintenance checks ensuring the best reporting quality and optimum TAT,
  • Supervise the MRO FTM contractors and keep a continuous monitoring of their performance on you scope of activities,
  • Develop close relationship with the Customer, align and collaborate on processes and deliverables with Singapore Airline Technical Services,
  • Support Aircraft de-lease activities in terms on defect rectification and ensure the most efficient de-lease preparation,
  • Develop and maintain communications with others TSP stakeholders, with an integrated collaboration with TSP Operation Team,
  • Contribute to processes improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives,
  • Support the development and implementation of industrialized processes, methods and tools to improve efficiency and qualitatively the activities performed,
  • Set yearly objectives for each team member, assess performances and carry out interviews (P&D).

As per her/his management role she/he will have to

  • Promoting TRUST and empowerment to help the team to grow, develop and achieve superior results,
  • Ensuring individual follow-up, appreciation and training, set SMART objectives and bring the team to a high level of pride and result in their day to day service deliverables for customer,
  • Ensure business transformation by adopting industry best practices, deploy continuous improvement as well as LEAN practices,
  • Translating the Airbus FHS Domain strategy into clear activities for his/her team,
  • Ensuring the team objectives are defined and manage individual performance, skills, competences & knowledge,
  • Ensuring succession and transition plan with a potential short notice scenario considering the very challenging and dynamic local environment.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Supervise additional services such as but not limited to: cabin retrofit, check preparation  technical support and ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction

Job Requirements

  • Minimum degree holder in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Airline/MRO, in an engineering position
  • Managerial experience with strong leadership and multicultural skills
  • Ability to work under stress
  • Unyielding commitment to excellence, delivering the best possible outcomes for customers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to federate a team
  • Maintenance environment experience is a strong positive
  • Project/continuous improvement skills
