Who are we?

UrbanMatrix originated in 2019 at India’s top engineering institute: IIT Madras. We are a group of passionate engineers who love flying robots. The founders have strong technical backgrounds with several patents and papers published under their names along with the ‘Best Entrepreneur Award’ from IIT Madras and the ‘Certificate of Excellence’ from DRDO. Commercialization of drones began in 2013 with DJI Phantom and has grown multi-folds since. At UrbanMatrix, we have expertise in designing and manufacturing industrial drone systems along with world-class proprietary software infrastructure. It allows enterprises to not only control and manage drones but also effortlessly draw functional insights using integrated aerial data processing tools.

Your roles and responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, integration, and testing of the UAV through close collaboration with a small agile team
• Proficiency in CAD modeling and structural analysis
• Oversee the manufacturing aspects of the drone development
• Design and configure the UAV powertrain system for different use cases
• Intermediate level drone piloting skills
• Analyze requirements for products under development and define technical specifications for the required components
• Develop and maintain engineering documents
• Attending workshops, training sessions, and conferences to network with others and stay on top of field advancements 

You should have:

• 2+ years of experience in UAV development
• Strong communication skills
• Good analytical/problem-solving skills
• A track record of building creative solutions to complex and undiscovered problems
• A sound knowledge and understanding of multirotor control dynamics and its underlying fundamental principles
• Experience with developing products from scratch, taking design and operational decisions that are derived from the market need
• Preferred degree in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering or an equivalent combination

Your outstanding skill:

• Excellent critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to present your beliefs with logical and compelling arguments
• A knack for working in lean startups with fast-paced, action-based, and result-oriented development cycles
• Aptitude to stay focused when faced with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
• Ability to overcome challenges by quickly learning and developing a required skillset
