An exciting opportunity has arisen to influence and shape the future of the Rolls-Royce Defence business in India. The role will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to develop valuable expertise in leadership and help the organisation to meet its core business objectives.  

The position will be based in Bangalore. A significant element of the role will be to establish and develop key stakeholder relationships across the Indian Defence Ecosystem.

What we are looking for:

  • A strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker comfortable with nurturing change.
  • 15+ years of experience in the Aerospace and Defence domain across business and strategy functions.
  • Experience in working with the Indian Defence Services, Defence Research and Development Organisation and Defence Public Sector Undertakings.
  • Good understanding of the Indian Defence framework and policies.
  • Experience with the procurement processes of Indian Defence customers.
  • Has a strategic mind-set and comfortable in understanding various business models.
  • Someone who is self-aware and mindful, caring and inspiring other people.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and relentless hunger to win right.
  • A strong communicator who can interact across all levels in an organisation and build high-value relationships internally, externally and globally.
  • The ability to influence company policy and promote innovation in technology, services and business models.
  • An enterprise thinker with the ability to synthesise complex situations and formulate a simple way forward.
  • An ability to drive collaborative leadership and experience interfacing with and influencing senior external and internal stakeholders.
  • Someone who is intensely curious and continuously improves business understanding and personal performance.

The role:

  • Support the growth strategy for Defence in assigned markets.
  • Support business opportunities by coordinating with the Rolls-Royce team in UK and the customer in India to help meet core business targets.
  • Collaborate and support the Rolls-Royce global Defence organisation.
  • Establish a thorough understanding of the Indian defence market, customers and partners and capture insights to improve business positioning.
  • Establish a thorough understanding of the Technology Roadmap for India in Defence and beyond.
  • Manage Rolls-Royce and HAL partnership governance activity. Responsible for managing Rolls-Royce and HAL relationship.
  • Oversee Rolls-Royce activities with IAF in India and drive performance.
  • Manage relationship with international platform OEM’s with focus on airborne platforms.
