Recently I had a conversation with an Aviation student and I got to know that he had been struggling to get a job as an Aircraft technician. Well, he told me that every company was asking for experience and I do not have any experience. This is a common trend nowadays as every entry-level post is asking for certain Aviation skills and experiences.

Ms office proficiency

this is one of the most demanded aviation skills that recruiters look for in a candidate. the Microsoft office consists of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive. If you look out for jobs in the aviation sector for AMEs, Customer representative, technical writer, etc. You will see that Proficiency in Ms. Office is written on the required section of the job post.

These Skills in Word, Office, Excel, etc. will give you added advantage in your job applications. These skills can be learnt on numerous platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.

Language Proficiency

As discussed previously Communication is one of the backbones of the aviation industry. English is one of the widely spoken languages in the world. In aviation, communication is done in English. Therefore you should have good knowledge of English so that you can excel in your field.

If you are applying for any position in a foreign country or company the knowledge of additional languages also gives you an advantage. Languages like French, Spanish, German, etc. will give you more opportunities in the aviation industry. The fluent use of language as aviation skills will give a boost to your career.

Adaptability

Much of the aviation industry operates on shift-based rotas in dynamic environments. Airport workers, such as retail, baggage or hospitality staff, need to respond to ever-changing workloads and short-lead demands. Flight operations employees, like pilots or air traffic controllers, need to be comfortable with last-minute changes and making decisions on the fly — no pun intended!

To be able to sympathize with their situation and understand how they must be feeling is important as it shows you are someone they can rely on to help them.
