Generally a candidate needs to apply for BVC online through the respective boards website . Search the the option “Verification Documents” in the respective board’s website or search for documents in the website, or in case if you are not getting your BVC, contact your school authority. Each and every board will ask to Sign in (remember to fill all the details correctly while signing in) then proceed .

After completing all the above-said procedures, the respective board will ask you for payment. After successful payment, you will receive your BVC at home via speed post , DTDC etc.. Now the cost for the BVC will depend on the candidate’s respective board. It may be Rs 500 each (500 for 10th and 500 for 10+2) or it may be Rs 1000 each depending on the board. As per my knowledge It is Rs. 500 each in case of CBSE and CISCE. Another thing to remember, you need to get your BVC for your Marksheet or statement of marks only and not you pass certificates.

After receiving the Board Verification Certificate, the private category candidates often get confused about whether to send the BVC in a sealed envelope or by simply copies of the document. So let me answer you this – I asked DGCA about this in the enquiry section and they replied as follows: “please follow our user manual instructions”.

So let me tell you in layman language, just take out coloured copies of your BVC and in case of a private candidate, get those coloured copies duly attested from a gazetted officer or notary public and send it to DGCA. If you send the sealed envelope, then there is a great risk of getting your BVC lost. I got rejected for computer number thrice for my document issues (not BVC). Therefore, there is no need to send the sealed envelope to DGCA and be assured it will be accepted .
