Vistara will employ more employees and will increase their fleet

Vistara is the joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines founded in 2013, and it is a full-service airline and the only 5-star Indian airline in India with a fleet of Boeing 787 and Airbus A320.

They offer excellent customer service, and they fly to 43 destinations With a market share of 8.1 percent of the Indian aviation market from 5.6 percent during the same period last year.

According to the report by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), Vistara conveyed 4.79 lakh, homegrown travellers, in January 2022 and had a portion of the overall industry of 7.5 percent.

Interestingly, IndiGo conveyed 35.57 lakh homegrown travellers, trailed by SpiceJet (6.80 lakh), Air India (6.56 lakh), and Go First (6.35 lakh). The airline serves 34 destinations with a fleet of Airbus A320, Airbus A321neo, Boeing 787-9, and Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

They recently bought an all-new Boeing 787 and expanded their operation in India as well as on international routes. They got their 1st aircraft delivered on 25th September 2014, and they also inducted 9 Boeing 737 from Jet Airways in January 2020. They returned it, and the remaining aircraft will not be returned until 2023. They also ordered 6 Boeing 787-9 Aircraft, from which it gets only 2 B797 delivered to date.


“We wanted to make sure that we explain our side of the story… In February, what we have seen is that demand has come back and people have started to travel, and I think with cases going down, this, touch wood, will be the trend for the future,” Kannan told PTI in an interview on Tuesday.

They will have a fleet of 70 aircraft in the next 2 years


As after covid aviation is going back to pre-covid level and coming back on track, so Vistara is preparing by adding more aircraft into their fleet by the end of 2023. They will add 4 more Boeing 787-9 and 6 Airbus A321. Currently, they have 2 Boeing 787-9 and 4 A321s.

As Boeing stopped the delivery of the Boeing 787 due to some issue from Boeing’s side, Vistara’s international expansion plan is affected due to late delivery. They have also asked Boeing how many aircraft they can deliver this year, but the response from Boeing is still awaited

Vistara will ramp up its manpower and bring more jobs

At present, Vistara has around 4000 people working in Vistara from 2020 after the 1st covid wave Aviation industry is walloped and air traffic has been reduced substantially. Furthermore, the 2nd and 3rd waves also affect the aviation industry.

However, now the airline industry is going back to the pre-covid level and seeing improvement in traffic flow they are planning to increase manpower to 5000 to meet future demand and also to complete in terms of customer service. The company also started restoring pre-covid level service as a hot meal.

This just starting other airlines are going to increase their manpower and also new airline is coming with new plans and will help Indian aviation to grow in all terms, and this will create more and more job offer.

Also some new airport is coming and UDAN is also helping airlines and airports to increase connectivity in India.

As Air India is also being privatized, they are also planning to update their fleet for better international connectivity. This will directly increase the demand for the smooth workflow of the company. Also, other airlines would need more staff to meet the requirements.
