How I got my AME Computer Number in 2022

Are you struggling to get your computer number? Are you a Private category candidate? Then this is a blog for you. It is a must-read for AME students. The students from CAR 147 institutes did not have to struggle for the computer number much.

I got my computer number after three attempts. The problem with me was I did not understand the User Manual well. That is what made it difficult for me. Continue reading this article until the end to get your computer number easily. Here I will share with you my experience and in layman language, you will know how to get your computer number.

Whenever you will surf the DGCA website, it will lead you to the AME user manual where you will get to know the procedure for getting the computer number. The very first thing you should do is collect all your documents needed by DGCA for verification.

The first step to getting your computer number is to register yourself at the DGCA Pariksha portal, fill in your requisite details, and apply for a computer number.

Get your BVC for Computer Number

Well BVC is the document for which my application got rejected the first time. I did not know what exactly a BVC is. Well BVC is Board Verification Certificate that you can get from your school education board. This will be the only thing you need money for, i.e. around Rs 1000 to Rs 1200. Documents you Need to collect

Coloured Photograph: The Size of the color photograph has to be 45mm height X 35mm width (passport size) taken on a white background without borders. The face size should be approximately 70% of the photograph. The photograph should be preferably of MATT finish(better get matt finish). A sample photograph can be viewed here. The size of the scanned image to be uploaded should be within 70Kb.

Scanned Signature: The scanned signature image size should be within 20mm height X 45mm width on a white background without a border. The size of the scanned signature should be within 20Kb.

Date of Birth proof: If you are a private category candidate, you must get your DOB proof duly attested by the competent authority. The type of DOB proof you need to submit can be viewed here.

Address Proof: you will need to self attest your address proof and send it to DGCA. The size of scanned copy to be uploaded within 100 Kb.

10th Marksheet: This is to be attested by the competent authority, and the size of scanned copy to be uploaded within 100 kB.

10+2 Marksheet: This is to be attested by the competent authority, and the size of scanned copy to be uploaded within 100 kB.

BVC of 10 and 10+2: The BVCs are to be attested by the competent authority and the scanned copies are to be uploaded within 100 kB.

Aadhar Card: the Aadhar card is to be scanned and uploaded within 100Kb. Better you do not upload e-Aadhar as it is password protected and in case you upload it better attach a letter mentioning its password. You will need to get your Aadhar card copy attested before sending to DGCA.

The Competent authority mentioned above is a gazetted officer or notary public. He/she has the authority to sign and verify your documents.

What to do after collecting all your documents?

After finally submitting all your documents you will get a hard copy of your application. After getting the hard copy, print out, gather all your uploaded document copies, arrange them serially as uploaded and get the attested done from competent authority, and speed post the documents to the following address:

RK Puram, New Delhi-110066

The envelope containing the application should be super-scribed in capital and bold letters as “AME-COMPUTER NUMBER ALLOTMENT APPLICATION“.

Just remember you will need to attest your computer number application hardcopy and other documents by competent authority if you are a private candidate.
